No. Unless you have completed an apprenticeship or have acquired the necessary skills, it is highly irresponsible and disrespectful to tattoo on real skin. Please understand that tattooing involves serious health and safety risks for both yourself and your future client. Infections and diseases are just two things that can raise their ugly heads if you do not do things properly and hygienically. You could also cause severe damage and/or scarring to someone’s skin. Enjoy the process of learning – perfect your portfolio, create designs for your friends, use lots and lots of fake skin…and when you’re finally at that stage where it’s safe to take your first, real steps, know that you did things right and be proud.

The essence of tattooing is the artwork – the mind-blowing designs that our instructors show you how to create – so it is possible to learn a lot from our courses with just a pencil and paper. But to get the most out of our courses, you should own some basic tattoo equipment including a tattoo machine, needles, power supply, ink, gloves, fake skins, stencil solution, carbon paper, Vaseline, and some essential cleaning products. Our instructors go through all the tools you need at the start of each course and we have a bundle coming your way really soon that includes absolutely everything you’ll need to get started!
